What is a Google Search Ad?

A Google Search Ad is a sort of advertisement that shows on Google’s search engine results pages after a user searches for a specific phrase.

Assume we want to enjoy a lovely supper at an Italian restaurant tonight. What should we do? We go to Google and type in the search term ‘Popular Nasi Lemak Restaurants,’ then hit enter. If everything goes as planned, we’ll be brought to a page that displays a range of results linked to our search query.

As shown in the screenshot below, the initial results on that page now display Google Search Ads. These generally appear above the organic results and give relevant information to the search. And there’s a good chance you’ve seen them before. They may be identified by the little sticker that reads “ad” on them.

Furthermore, these (ad) results are likely to be followed by a map that displays some additional restaurants, and finally, there are organic search results. These are relevant to their search but are not sponsored advertisements.
